Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of ELI at https://www.elibrain.com and related services (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

ELI is an AI-powered learning platform that provides explanations of topics at different complexity levels (Child, Teen, Adult, Expert) and tools to support learning. Core features include:

• AI-generated explanations and answers to your questions
• Interactive quizzes and diagram/mind-map generation
• Learning Journeys, progress tracking, achievements, and PDF export
• User accounts with personalization options

You must provide accurate and current information when creating an account and keep your credentials confidential. You are responsible for all activity under your account. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.

If you are under the age of 13, you may use the Service only with verifiable parental consent and, where applicable, through a family account managed by a parent or guardian.

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for unlawful, harmful, or abusive activities
• Infringe intellectual property or privacy rights
• Upload malware or attempt to disrupt or compromise security
• Scrape, crawl, or reverse engineer the Service
• Bypass or attempt to bypass usage limits, access controls, or content safeguards
• Submit content that is violent, sexually explicit, or otherwise inappropriate

Explanations, quizzes, and diagrams are generated using artificial intelligence. AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated. The content is for educational purposes only and is not professional advice. You should verify important information and use your own judgment.

• Free plan: access to core features with reasonable usage limits.
• Free plan access levels: Child and Teen. Pro unlocks Adult and Expert levels.
• Journey creation requires an active Pro subscription. Pro plans include higher limits subject to fair use and technical safeguards.

Certain features are offered via recurring subscription. By starting a subscription, you authorize us and our payment processor (Stripe) to charge your selected payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel. Prices may change; any changes will apply at the start of your next billing cycle after notice.

Checkout may be completed using Stripe’s Embedded Checkout. You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime through the billing portal. Your access continues until the end of the current billing period. You are responsible for applicable taxes.

Except where required by law, fees are non-refundable. If you believe you were charged in error, contact support within a reasonable time and we will review your request.

Your use of the Service is subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and share information, including use of third-party providers to deliver the Service.

The Service, including software, design, and branding, is owned by us or our licensors and protected by law. You retain ownership of questions and other content you submit ("User Content"), and you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, process, display, and create derivatives of your User Content solely to operate and improve the Service.

We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or if we suspect misuse or security risk. You may stop using the Service at any time and may request account deletion.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

To the extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of the Service.

We rely on third-party providers to deliver the Service. This includes OpenAI (AI processing), Supabase (authentication, database, and hosting for certain app data), Stripe (payments), and Google (OAuth sign-in). Use of these services is subject to their terms and policies. We transmit only the information necessary to provide the Service.

We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the Service or applicable law. If changes are material, we will provide notice (for example, by posting here). Your continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
